Chase tearing up the Field

Unfortunately they do a lot of practicing and only have 4 regular season games

Chase plays on the line....I can attest that he is very strong

Way to go Spartans!!! Way to go Chase

As most of you know...it is now football season...Since we can not go to Husker football very often, I will make do with some good ole Jr High football. We are in a year where both the 7th and 8th grades are low boys. We only have 15 boys out this year which means that the boys play the whole game with only a short break. Most of these boys played very little last year so we are so impressed how well they play! Chase is an 8th grader this year and has grown quite a bit....

I'm so proud of him

a new chapter

Now that county fair season has come and gone, I can take a deep breath and relax....The kids love this time of the year, all the activities, friends, fun....But it is a little exhausting for a parent! Autumns favorite thing is getting her face painted...Last year she was a blue butterfly and this year her pick was a pink kitty...is it just me or does she look a little evil? It all looked innocent enough when she started
Today marks a new chapter in our life....Autumn is starting kindergarten today and it has been bittersweet! She is so excited so that makes me excited...She even slept in her own bed last night (that has been an issue)

The bus driver is so nice that she brought the bus out last week so that Autumn could get on and look around and then took her around the route she uses in our neighboorhood.

Sorry I have been such a slacker! Since school has gotten out I have been busier than ever. Austin has a job so there is a lot of chaufferring around! I suppose I should blog about work because that is what I do more hours than not. Sleep (or fun) is over rated right!?!
I will do better!

and it's just Monday

Just a mere 5 years ago we were blessed with this beautiful little girl! She has been such a highlight to our life! She was old enough to play soccer this year but the weather has just not be cooperative so she has had to make up games. I just look at her and cant believe that it's already been 5 years...She goes to kindergarten round-up on Friday and I'm afraid that there will be some tears shed!

Onto another subject:
I have to give kudos where kudos are deserved~
I have a friend who shall remain nameless, only because she doesn't like to have a fuss made over her...she is an avid runner and has done well enough in a marathon that she has qualified to run the Boston Marathon....
Just thinking about this makes me feel the need to sit down and rest. One of the great things, because seriously many times when something good happens to someone....you may say your happy but...Not with this girl because she is one of the nicest people you will ever meet, she is gorgeous on top of that, she does things for people out of the goodness of her heart without any hidden agenda or without any recognition....so I feel the need to give her a big
WOOP WOOP ;) You go girl!

Busy Busy Busy

Poor Autumn has waited 3 weeks to finally have a soccer game...She measures everything by "wake ups" so we would do the countdown every week to get to Friday only to expect terrible weather so the games would be postponed....she has been a trooper and patiently waited! At this age they only play 3 on 3 without a goalie....I'm pretty sure that she didn't get the whole concept yet.....but she looked cute right?
nothing like trying to ge quick and agile wearing 2 pairs of socks, leggings, long sleeved shirt, sweatshirt, t-shirt all at once

By the end of the day it was worth the wait!

Austin had his first golf meet....it's not exactly a parent friendly sport....you are not allowed to talk to them....you have to stay 50 feet from them at all times....you have to walk the course following them.....try to keep your 5 year old from digging in the fairways, throwing pebbles, and talking to her brother....thank goodness we live next door so we could go back and forth

The weather actually cooperated and it was a beautiful spring day!

HHHHHMMMMMMM maybe he can become a professional golfer and take care of his mom!!!
Having kids was the smartest thing that I have ever done (and marrying Bryce) of course
hope you all enjoy your families!

~*Arabian Nights*~

Austin and his friend Taylor after the grand march...don't they look handsome
This is Austin and his date Taylor ;) thank goodness he has had a growth spurt!

Taylor was so nice....she helped Austin pick out his tux, picked out the flowers and made sure that he looked handsome!

This is Austin and his 2 best buddies Brody and John! I'm thankful every day that he has them in his life

Austin and John in all their handsomeness

Austin was asked to prom this year which is unusual for a freshman...well not unusual but for a mom I was looking forward to another year to accept that my firstborn is old enough to go to prom! It's kind of hard to be in denial when your child is doing all of these activities!

boy 2 man

Here is a little preview of what went down this last weekend. I always thought that I would be a cool "hip" mom...I was excited to see my oldest have a great time his first year in high school...everything was going so smooth until

wait for it.....

wait for it......

he came home with these 5 words " I got asked to prom"

sniff, sniff tear

from the mouth of a 4yr old

Autumn: "mom, mom, mom, I could tell that was Austin in the dark!" (prom grand march)

Mom: "Because he was so handsome?"

Autumn: "Actually no, I just knew"

I guess you ask, you need to be prepared for the answer

why do they have to grow up

Why do your kids have to grow up!?! It is so exciting to see them go through all the milestones of childhood but then it makes you realize that they are growing up and taking a little step away.
